Our Land

Back in 2009, a guy and his two sidekicks decided to kick the Indigenous folks out of Chuschagasta, Argentina, claiming their land. It escalated quickly when they shot the community’s leader, Javier Chocobar, and the whole thing was caught on tape. Fast forward nine years of relentless protests, and finally, in 2018, the court system starts to take action, while the perpetrators have enjoyed their freedom all that time. This film weaves together the voices and snapshots of the community with intense courtroom moments, shedding light on the deep-rooted colonialism and land disputes that led to this tragic event.
