Shouya Ishida

Meet Ishida, a tall guy at 183 cm who’s seen some serious ups and downs. Back in elementary school, he was the bully who tormented Nishimiya Shouko until she left, and soon after, it all backfired—his friends turned against him, leaving him isolated and lost. Imagining everyone with a big "X" across their faces, he hit a dark point, even contemplating suicide. But after finally apologizing to Nishimiya and learning sign language to make it meaningful, he finds a glimmer of hope. Still, he wrestles with guilt over his past and feels forever cut off from friendship, wishing he could erase his former self.
