Kenji Endou

Endo Kenji grew up in late '60s Japan, a time buzzing with American vibes like the space race and Woodstock. A huge manga fan, he often shouted, "I would fight!" at any apocalyptic scenario. Along with his buddies, he dreamed up wild plans for world domination just for fun. Fast-forward to 1997, he’s running his family’s liquor store, now a busy convenience shop, and raising his niece, Kiriko, who was mysteriously abandoned. Life gets crazy when his old fantasies start coming to life, and he finds himself on the run from a masked villain known as “Friend.” With his protest song “Bob Lennon,” he secretly rallies folks against this ominous entity. After a massive showdown involving a giant robot, he temporarily disappears, only to resurface in 2014 without clear memories, claiming to be the devil. As he reclaims his identity, he reconnects with old friends and gains a following by serenading crowds while plotting his next moves against Friend's regime. In a gripping finale, he confronts true evil and reunites with family, leaving his life story on a hopeful note.
