Rem

Rem is a pretty fascinating Shinigami, known for kicking off Misa's wild journey by handing her a Death Note and those infamous Shinigami eyes. Just like Ryuk, she’s got a couple of Death Notes, one of which she hands over to Misa. This second note belonged to Jealous, another Shinigami who sacrificed himself for Misa, and now Rem feels a strong connection to her too. She’s fiercely protective of Misa, even saying she’d take out Light if anything were to happen to her. Although she’s definitely a female Shinigami, the live-action flick leaves that detail hanging in the air.
