In a world where giant monsters, or Kaiju, are a common threat, Kafka Hibino is just trying to do his job in monster cleanup. But everything changes when he bumps into Mina Ashiro, his childhood friend who’s a rising star in the Kaiju Defense Force. Inspired to chase his dream of joining her, Kafka has a wild twist of fate and turns into Kaiju No. 8! With the help of his rookie buddy, Reno, he keeps his secret while aiming for the Defense Force exam. When an intelligent Kaiju wreaks havoc, Kafka has to make some tough choices to protect everyone.
